Become a Stronger, More Powerful Diver

One of the core concepts at UTD is that scuba training does not have to be tied to certification.

At the UTD Skills Camps you will have an opportunity to work on your personal skills, team skills, and technical skills – all focused on your own level of diving.

The San Diego, California camp will be held at a fitness facility with a spectacular pool and a large, outdoor classroom. Morning lectures and workshops will be followed by afternoon pool sessions. Later in the weekend will be optional shore or boat dives depending on your needs and interests.

The camp includes pool access, tanks and weights, an opening night welcome dinner, continental breakfast (if staying at our official hotel), daily snacks and coffee, daily happy hours/Q&A sessions, a fitness center membership for the week, and much more.

Upgrades are available to complete Essentials of Rec or Essentials of Tech.

We are also offering a DAN first aid program – initial provider or refresher, or DAN instructor. See below for the complete schedule and details.

Your San Diego Skills Camp Instructors

James Mott

Position: Foundational, Tech Instructor and IT
Email: james@utdscubadiving.com

James Mott is an instructor for Unified Team Diving International, a DIR based training agency that is committed to building thinking divers. A veteran of the Great Lakes area diving community, James started working at Don’s Dive Shop in 1991 just two years after learning how to scuba dive and has managed Sea The World Scuba Center since its opening in 1996. James’ heart lies beneath the cold waters of the Great Lakes along with the ship wrecks that he loves diving, in addition he also has a new found love for Florida’s cave diving and an occasional dip in shark infested waters. Passionate about educating the diving community and sharing an underwater philosophical base, James’ instruction provides infinite possibilities and extends attainable excellence to all divers willing to reexamine their underwater behavior.
